Take The Guesswork Out Of Printer Shopping - Lexmark & HP

Choosing a Printer doesn't have to be hard!

Here are some questions you should be covering to help narrow down your choices.

Looking for a printer that does the job can be quite overwhelming. There are hundreds of brands with thousands of printers. MediaForm’s core background stems from printers, toners, ink and developing managed print solutions.

How you plan to use your printer will determine which one is best for you. Whether you’re working from home, running a small business or part of a large organisation, your printer needs will vary.

Here are several key questions you should answer and bring forward to our team:

1. What is your monthly print volume?

How many pages do you print on average per month, how often do you print?

Some printers handle larger printing loads than others, answering this question will help the team pick the best performing printer for your needs.

2. What is your paper size?

There are printers that handle paper in A4 or A3, some printers support both.

3. Do you require colour or monochrome printing?

You should ask yourself how often you print in colour and how important is it to your office work activities. Some offices may require colour when printing important documents and labels.

4. Laser or inkjet?

Essentially, with Laser printers you will be requiring toners while Inkjet printers require ink cartridges. Keep in mind, toners produce extremely high quality imaging and higher yield compared to inkjet cartridges.

5. Multifunction or single function?

If you require faxing, duplex scanning and copying you should consider a multifunction printer as it will eliminate the need for extra machines within the office. If you only require printing, a single function printer is the way to go.

6. What are your pains with your current printer?

If you already have a printer and are seeking for an upgrade, let us know what concerns and issues you want to avoid. You can rest knowing you're in the best of hands when it comes to support from our highly experienced tech team that offer printer services and repairs.

7. What is your budget?

To help narrow down and refine your printer choice down, having a budget is always a good idea.

After answering these questions, you may find you fall into one of these generalised categories below:

Home Office:

If you’re needing a printer for your home office, you’ll generally be printing a smaller amount thus you won’t need a printer with a large page per month volume. You can rule out MFP’s and focus more on single printing, and narrow down either colour or mono. You may want to also consider a small inkjet printer if you don't print that often at home.

Small and Medium Businesses:

If you’re an SMB you most likely will print a larger volume and may need to use the copy/scan option, therefore a multifunction printer may be more suited to you. We stock standard yield toners that will meet your moderate printing demands.

Large Organisation:

When operating a large organisation you will have extremely high printing volumes and require a device capable of many functions. It is suggested to opt for a multi function printer that has a relatively high monthly output. Save on running costs with our corporate level toners that produce extremely high yields.

We are always here to help!
